Bold Weather shows the weather. It does not put ads, an account, or tracking between you and the forecast.

No ads

There are no advertisements in the app, no ad-free upgrade, and no banners between the temperature and the forecast. The screen holds the weather and nothing else.

No account

Download the app and open it. There is nothing to sign up for and no password to remember. Your saved locations stay on your iPhone.

Location

Bold Weather asks for your location once, to fetch the forecast for where you are. You can decline and add locations by name instead. Coordinates go to Apple Weather for forecasts and to Apple Maps to resolve place names and time zones. We operate no location servers.

Weather data

Forecasts, next-hour rain timing, and alerts come through Apple Weather, the weather service built into iPhone, which draws on the national weather agencies. Every alert names the agency that issued it. The app shows the Apple Weather attribution and a link to the data sources on its About screen.

What the app sends

The app sends coordinates to Apple Weather for forecasts and to Apple Maps for place names and time zones. Typed town and postal-code searches go to Apple Maps. Opening radar sends requests to RainViewer for the map area being viewed, including geographically indexed tiles. There is no analytics service, no crash reporting that includes your locations, and no advertising identifier.

Updates

Updates come from TestFlight during the beta and from the App Store after release. Nothing in the app checks a server of ours.
