Radar with large controls

The radar map shows where rain and snow are now and where they are heading. Bold Weather keeps the map simple and makes the controls big.

What the map shows

The map is centered on your location. Rain and snow are drawn over it in a small set of colors, from light to heavy, with a legend in words instead of a color bar alone. A timeline shows the past hour and any nowcast frames the radar service provides.

Controls you can find

The play and pause button is large, sits at the bottom of the screen where a thumb can reach it, and is labeled in words. A single slider moves through time, with Earlier and Later buttons beside it. There are no layers to switch on, no menus to open, and no small icons along the edge of the map.

Pinch to zoom in or out. Tap the location button to return to your location.

A sentence that says what is coming

Above the map, the app writes what the next hour holds in plain words, such as “Rain reaches you in about 20 minutes and lasts about 40 minutes” or “No rain in the next hour.” You can read the sentence without reading the map.
