Save the places your family lives and switch between them in one tap. Bold Weather keeps the same large type and the same plain sentences for every location.

Several saved locations

Add a location by name or by postal code. Each saved place has its own forecast, its own alerts, and its own widgets. The location name is always at the top of the screen, so you know whose weather you are reading before you read the temperature.

Switch locations from the top of the main screen. The list is large and shows each place’s current temperature beside its name.

Alerts for the places you care about

Turn on alert notifications for any saved location. When a storm warning or a heat advisory is issued for the town where a daughter or a grandson lives, you see it in the same large type as an alert for your own town, with the agency named. Read about alerts.

Setting up the app for a parent

If you are helping a parent or another family member set up Bold Weather, these steps take a few minutes.

1. Install the app from the TestFlight invitation and open it.
2. Allow location access when asked, or skip it and add the home town by name.
3. Add the towns where family lives.
4. Turn on alert notifications for the home location and any other place that matters.
5. Add a medium widget to the Home Screen. The widget guide walks through it.
6. Check the iPhone text size together. The text-size guide explains the settings.

Then hand the phone over and let them read the screen at their own pace. Ask whether the summary sentence says what they want to know.

A phone call with the same forecast

When two people look at the same location in Bold Weather, they read the same numbers and the same sentence. That makes it easier to talk about tomorrow’s drive or the weekend visit without comparing two different apps.
